If job interviews were honest:

Employer: So the commute isn't a problem for you?

Candidate: (confused) The recruiter said it was a hybrid position with a need to be on-site only 1 day a month for the management meeting. The 1 day a month commute is not a problem for me

Employer: Well, originally we thought it could be hybrid but we've since decided that that won't work, it's fully on-site (translation: it was never actually going to be hybrid)

Candidate: I wish you the best in finding the right candidate (translation: you don't say)
