I had a busy weekend with cat sitting but I absolutely loved it 😻

I'm still in the middle of one of the jobs so I'm going to work on that bill 💻 today. The other jobs were booked through one of the two apps📱 I'm background checked on so I don't have to bill those. I already received one payment (plus a tip 💵) and am expecting the other payment soon.

Job seekers, it's not only a new day, it's a new week and a new month 🗓 - anything can happen. Do one thing that will help you get closer to landing the job you're looking for: 

° send that message

° update your resume (ONLY if it needs it)

° apply to that job 

° like that LinkedIn post that resonated with you

° post what you're looking for

Just do something. And in the meantime, figure out what you're good at (bonus points if you love it) and do that as a freelancer. Cat sitting doesn't pay all my bills but I never know who I'll meet who may need my accounting (or other) services 💼

Happy Friday 🤍 For those wondering what the job search is like right now, this is a good example. A recruiter recently reached out to me about a position they're trying to fill for their client. We spoke a couple of times before an interview with the client was scheduled. In one of our conversations, I was asked if I had any travel plans coming up (which, now that I think about it, I probably shouldn't have answered). I was honest and mentioned a short trip in mid-May to Texas for a family reunion. This morning (the day of the interview), I received this email telling me my interview was canceled but if I could change my trip, the recruiter would "be happy to let my client know and see if we can get you scheduled again for an interview". It ended with, "Please let me know how you'd like to proceed". I don't even know how to respond to this. First of all, my trip is 4 weeks away. Happy Friday 🚙 I picked up my rental car today. This weekend I'm driving up to Northern California for a cat sitting job 🐈‍⬛. Do I usually travel 👝 for a cat sitting job? No. The one exception I make is for family and believe it or not, this is the first of two out of town cat sitting jobs for me (the second is in March, that one requires flying to another city, I'm looking at you, Dallas 🛩).  I've commented on many posts from job seekers telling them sometimes you have to look outside of traditional jobs to make money 💲, even if it's only temporary. This is an example of that. And I feel lucky that at this weird point in my career, I can visit with family and help them out while they're away from home. Have a great weekend! I'll probably be off LinkedIn for most of the next week to enjoy some downtime.
